I’m real happy ‘cause I spent some time sketching today at a cafe, my favorite thing to do. I sketched in a different sketchbook than my moleskine, my "black and white patterned sketchbook" which has really soft paper, so I also used soft pencils. I tried practicing people today.

Great people sketches… I love that chair!

Hi Lauren,
I’ve been looking at your blog a bit lately, you’re inspiring with the energy you have, I can tell you’re passionate about many things. Keep up the great work.

Wonderful sketches - they make me want to go to a coffee shop! Alas, except for Starbucks in Paris they tend to be smoke-filled and depressing here. At least I got to share in your experience (I can smell the espresso from here).

There is something so comfy about sketching in cafes — isn’t there?! Nice work — and I hope the day was lovely for you too!

Seeing your sketches I really wish to go out for my sketching too. But somehow I do not dare too. I would hate it if people would look over my shoulder. Any recommendation, how to get over this fear?

These are great sketches and I know what you mean about feeling how you do with outcome. I get the same feelings. When you scan, go to your toolbar and see if there is an output image button. You should be able to clikc on color or black and white. Mine does, but it might not be the same for everyone. Actually I don’t think your scans look bad.
