I am so, so sorry. Having one elderly pet ourselves, I count the days and it is always with relief when I check her basket of a morning to see she is still with us. I wish I could offer some comfort - all I can share is your tears.
ciao Robyn

Hang in there. I know it’s awful to lose a loved pet. She had a long life and I’m sure you spared her a painful death.

Oh, I’m so sorry! I’ve been there too and it just plain HURTS!! All you can do now is allow yourself to grieve, just keep in mind that when they become so old and their quality of life is so poor, we really are doing the kindest thing we can for them by letting them go.

Pookie, I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s very hard, I know. We went through it last year and I still have the same feelings, but it’s the humane thing to do and requires real strength to do it. Just letting the animal die so we don’t feel guilt is the chicken way out. You did the braver thing because you’re a good person.

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet cat. I know that in time you will find relief, knowing you did the right thing to prevent her suffering, and will remember the good years without guilt. Clearly you provided wonderful care for her that she was able to live so very long. I’ve never had a cat or dog that lived past 13, no matter how well I cared for them. Loving a creature is the greatest gift and also brings the greatest sadness when they’re gone. Before I read this I was just admiring a painting I have on my bedroom wall of my most beloved cat who I put to sleep a year and a half ago. I can look at it with joy and pleasure, remembering the best cat in the world, and knowing that when it was her time to go I helped so that she didn’t have to suffer. (I hope you find my note helpful and not preachy…this is a very hard time, I know).

I’m so sorry. I had to do this twice already with my cats already. Now I have only a little dog left and when it’s time for him, it will be the last time for me. No more pets for me…
I hope you feel better soon. You did what just was to do.

I’m so sorry for your cat. A beloved pet is almost like a member of the family and its death is a great loss. It’s a hard time you will have to face now and I hope you will get over it some day.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pets are a precious part of our life and to lose one is unspeakably painful. May your heart heal soon and the memories you have of Sasha bring you joy instead of sadness.
