I just drew this and colored it w/ colored pencils. I’m not happy w/ it. For one, I just drew it sorta wrong. Then as usual, as soon as I start coloring it w/ colored pencils, I’m unhappy w/ it. Then, when I was done, I scanned it, the scan never shows what I see. Then I look again, and I think it’s too 2-dimensional. I’m really not happy w/ it. But I love this toothy-toad. It’s a little hinged box you can keep stuff in. I was sorta thinking of it as my EDM #6 "draw your favorite or well-loved object, or childhood toy". Idunno. I’m tired and cranky and don’t feel good. So I’m gonna go to bed and think about this tomorrow. Oh, this is the object, by the way.
Lauren, I can sense the whimsy in this little guy. I can also understand your feeling abut the scanner and not liking what you’ve finished. I always see the errors in my work after I post it. One thing that might help you is if you use a bright, concentrated light source so that it will allow you to see the shadows and highlights better. Keep up the good work!
